LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Monday, August 26, 2019) — The Entertainer of the Year (EOY) national pageantry system launches updated website at EOY.net for it’s anniversary year in 2020. As of today, the website lists fourteen regional and statewide preliminary contests featuring new and returning EOY promoters coast to coast. More prelims to be announced soon at www.EOY.net.
2020 returning EOY preliminary contests include: South Florida EOY, Missouri EOY, Kentucky EOY, Southern Indiana EOY, Great Lakes EOY, Ohio EOY, Midwest EOY, Michigan EOY and North Carolina EOY. New preliminary contests for the upcoming year include: Los Angeles Regional EOY, South Carolina EOY, Texas EOY, Florida EOY and Tennessee EOY.
The first 2020 EOY preliminary contest will be South Florida EOY with longtime promoter Greg Dye. The preliminary will kick off the EOY prelim schedule on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 8 p.m. at Cruisers in Cape Coral, Florida.
“I began promoting with EOY the very first year and have continued for many years since then,” said Dye. “I am always impressed by the high caliber of creativity and entertainment in the long rich history of EOY and proud to be part of that history as a promoter and someone who believes in EOY pageantry.”
This past July at the National EOY contest, Buff Faye was crowned Miss Entertainer of the Year, FI 2019 and Prince Cole won Mr. Entertainer of the Year, 2019. Both have been working to plan and represent EOY as the current titleholders.“We have been able to secure some amazing promoters for 2020, especially our
returning promoters, and, of course, so many wonderful committed promoters and contestants over the 30 years. This year will be a celebration of EOY - past and present- of all those ‘Forever EOY’ winners, our promoters and all the contestants who have made EOY what it is today,” said Buff Faye, the current Miss EOY, FI national titleholder.
New 2020 EOY promoters, to date, include John Buchanan for Texas EOY, Jeff Hoyle for South Carolina EOY, Christopher Ball-Crum for Tennessee EOY, David Huggard (aka Eureka O’Hara from RuPaul’s Drag Race) for the Los Angeles Regional EOY and Ryan Taylor (Trinity “The Tuck” Taylor from RuPaul’s Drag Race and All-Stars Winner). This past July at the National EOY pageant, Buff Faye was crowned Miss National Entertainer of the Year 2019 along with Prince Cole as Mr National Entertainer of the Year 2019 at the C2 Event Venue in Louisville, Ky.
“My goal is to have over 30 committed, creative contestants for the 30 year anniversary and 20 EOY prelim contests for the year 2020. It’s going to be a year to remember,” said Miss EOY, FI Faye.
The National Entertainer of the Year pageantry system started in 1991 showcasing drag creativity and entertainment honoring Emeritus Naomi Sims. The EOY pageantry system has served as a charitable contest raising funds for the non-profit SLS Pride Foundation, which is “dedicated to the betterment of diverse cultures.”
